The Astraeos Final Update: Enter the Boaratos
The biggest news of the week is undoubtedly the Astraeos Final Update, which officially dropped on August 26th. This update, titled Heaven & Abyss, has completely transformed the landscape of the Astraeos map. The star of the show? The Boaratos.
This isn't just another pig for your farm; the Boaratos is a fire-attacking beast that brings a whole new level of heat to the Astraeos map. Its ability to manipulate fire in combat makes it a formidable opponent and a must-have tame for any tribe looking to dominate the new Abyss regions. We’ve already seen some incredible taming runs on our NexusARK cluster, and the consensus is clear: the Boaratos is a game-changer for mid-to-late game progression.
Patch v93: Stability and Combat Refinement
Hot on the heels of the content update, Studio Wildcard released Client v93 on August 27th. While content updates get the hype, these stability patches are what keep our servers running smoothly. This patch is a godsend for those of us on RelentlessARK who live for high-stakes PvP and boss runs.
Here are the highlights from the v93 patch notes:
- Deinosuchus Bleed Fix: Fixed an issue where the Deinosuchus bleed would not apply during heavy server load. This is massive for boss fights where every tick of damage counts!
- Fish Basket Cosmetics: The fish basket now correctly saves cosmetics on dinos, allowing you to keep your favorite tames looking sharp.
- Bloodstalker Reticule: Fixed the disappearing reticule issue, making those high-speed swings through the trees much more reliable.
- Performance Optimizations: Standing torches have been optimized for better performance. If you have a massive base on PrimeARK lit up like a Christmas tree, you should see a noticeable bump in your FPS.
- Dino Collision: Fixed a desync issue where dino collision could fail while mounted, preventing those frustrating moments of getting stuck in the mesh.
- Cursed Items: Traits can now be added to cursed items, opening up new build possibilities for the bravest survivors.
Community Crunch 520: Three Heads are Better Than One
We also have to talk about the latest Community Crunch. The teaser "Three heads. One very good boy" has the community in a frenzy. It looks like a Cerberus-inspired creature is on the horizon! Whether this is a new boss, a high-tier tame, or part of the upcoming Lost Colony content, we are here for it. Looking Ahead: Genesis Transfers and More
Mark your calendars for September 4th. Genesis transfers are officially opening up, allowing you to move your hard-earned gear and tames into the Genesis maps. This is going to shift the meta significantly, so start preparing your transport cryopods now.
